We created Bettr to give you the convenience of a nationwide clinician’s service online, but sometimes there’s no substitute for seeing a clinician in person.

Bettr is part of the Tāmaki Health network - New Zealand’s largest privately owned primary healthcare group with over 50 clinics nationwide. When you enrol with a Local Doctors or White Cross GP clinic in our network, you can access Bettr 24/7 online GP care at the lower enrolled patient fee. You’ll also have access to our urgent care clinics.

Bettr’s clinicians are the same as the experienced clinicians you’ll see in our clinics – all part of a care network that’s been serving our communities for over 50 years. Our team offer high-quality, affordable care, and extended opening hours – with many clinics open 7 days, 8 am – 8 pm, and two urgent care clinics operating 24/7.

When you need to see a clinician face-to-face instead, we’re here for you.

Easy, free or reduced referrals online

If your Bettr online clinician needs to refer you to see a clinician in person, our network makes that easy. If you’re based in Auckland, we can refer you to one of our White Cross, Local Doctors or Tāmaki Health partner clinics. All your online notes can be made automatically available in your closest clinic, no effort required. Even better, you’ll pay either no additional consult fee or only the difference in cost between your online consult and what you pay in person. You can learn more about in-person referral fees here.

If you need a referral to a specialist medical service from your Bettr clinician, they can help with this too (fees may apply for specialist providers).

Enrol for more benefits

When you enrol as a patient in the Tāmaki Health network, you receive reduced fees not just for online appointments ($45 for enrolled patients or only $25 if you have a CSC) but at our physical clinics too. Fees vary between clinics and in some cases are as low as under $22. You benefit from your records being available at any clinic location you visit within our network. Choose the clinic location that’s most convenient for you as your regular clinician but still access the whole network.

We have enrolling clinics all over Auckland, from Northcote to St Lukes, to East Tāmaki and Takanini, and from Ranui and Henderson to Mt Wellington and Glen Innes, and many in between along with Palmerston North and Christchurch. Find one near you.

Enrolment is currently open only to Auckland, Palmerston North and Canterbury residents, but we welcome casual patients in our clinics and online at Bettr.
