Our skilled medical team offers the full range of general practice and urgent health care, with extended hours to make sure you can get help when you really need it and fit it in around your life. We provide urgent services like suturing and plastering, treating infections, pain relief, and general practice care such as ongoing family healthcare, minor surgeries and procedures, contraceptive care, cervical screening, liquid nitrogen treatment for lesions, warts or skin issues, and all your general health checks.
Available to help 7 days a week, we can support you with assessment and fast treatment for accidental injuries, wounds, fevers and other urgent concerns. Our team will offer immediate care, provide medication, and get you on the road to recovery.
We can also help you and your whanau stay healthy long-term, with ongoing care to ensure you’re up to date with immunisations and screenings, offer support for children’s health, and provide comprehensive treatment and management of any chronic health issues.
We will assess and refer you to any other health services you may need to see after your appointment. For example getting an x-ray, going to hospital, or a particular specialist service. We have services onsite, including private x-ray, dental, physiotherapy and a pharmacy too.
ACC accredited, we can help with the care you need after an accident too, including assessment, urgent treatment and ongoing recovery support through our GP services. We will manage the paperwork for you too.
Bettr’s online service complements our clinics, ensuring you have convenience balanced with the comfort and confidence of complete general practice services through a regular doctor who is close to you, and urgent care services if you need those too. With Local Doctors Otara as your regular clinic, Bettr’s accessible online care provides a great backup if you need to check in with a doctor but either can’t, or don’t wish to see one in person.
Our Otara team are well trained to provide a range of physical services that Bettr can’t do remotely, such as urgent care, regular GP services, minor procedures, examinations, tests, screens, ACC assessments and more. As part of the Tamaki Health network, Patients enrolled with our clinic network also benefit from reduced rates for Bettr appointments, at just $15 per appointment (or free for children under 14).
If you are given a prescription during your visit, you can organise repeat prescriptions through Bettr, or vice versa. With all our clinics and Bettr linked through the same system, your records are available wherever you need them.
You can’t miss us, the big blue building near McDonald’s in Otara Shopping Centre. We are easy to get to with the motorway and public transport close by, and a large car park on site.
Located on a main arterial route, we’re easy to find, and to get to. The clinic is close to the motorway and has a bus stop right outside.
Pop in and see us, we’re open 7 days 8am–8pm and you can just walk in.

Fees start at $10 for enrolled patients with a community services card during regular hours and $15 for enrolled patients (with CSC) after hours and on weekends. Appointments are always free for children under 14 years and under whether they’re enrolled or not. At our Otara clinic, we extend free appointments to enrolled patients aged 14–17 years. If you’re unsure whether to see a Bettr doctor or to visit a clinic, you might be surprised just how much we can take care of in an online consult. Most common health concerns can be tended to easily and effectively. Even repeat prescriptions are easy via Bettr. (Prescriptions for new or restricted medicines might require an in-person visit).
If you do end out needing to see a doctor in-person, we’ll refer you to our nearest clinic and your in-person visit will be either free, or you’ll just pay the cost difference between your original online appointment, and your in-person follow-up.
If your health concern requires a physical treatment or test (like immunisations, a cervical, prostate or other exam, or skin tag and wart removal for example) it’s likely best for you to head into one of our clinics
